Funds Availability DisclosureThis disclosure statement applies to all accounts, including transaction accounts. Transaction accounts, in general, are accounts which permit an unlimited number of payments to third persons and an unlimited number of telephone and preauthorized transfers to other accounts of yours with us. Checking accounts are the most common transaction accounts. Ask us whether any of your other accounts might also be under this disclosure. We may delay the availability of funds that you deposit in your account. During the delay, you may not withdraw the funds in cash and we may decide to not use the funds to pay checks that you have written. Remember that after we have made funds available to you, and you have withdrawn the funds, you are still responsible for checks that are returned to us unpaid and for any other problems involving your deposit. Determination of Deposit AvailabilityThe delay length is counted in business days from the day of your deposit. Every day is a business day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays. If you make a deposit before closing on a business day that we are open, we will consider that day to be the day of your deposit. However, if you make a deposit after closing or on a day we are not open, we will consider that deposit was made on the next business day we are open. The delay length varies depending on the type of deposit and is explained below. If you make a deposit at an ATM before 12:00 noon on a business day that we are open, we will consider that day to be the day of your deposit. However, if you make a deposit at an ATM after 12:00 noon or on a day we are not open, we will consider that deposit was made on the next business day that we are open. Same-Day AvailabilityFunds from electronic direct deposits to your account will be available the same day we receive the deposit. Next-Day AvailabilityFunds from the following deposits are available the first day after the day of your deposit.
If you make a deposit in person to one of our employees, funds from the following deposits are also available the first business day after the day of your deposit:
If you do not make your deposit in person to one of our employees (for example, if you mail the deposit), funds from these deposits will be available on second business day after the day your deposit was received. Other Check DepositsThe delay for other check deposits depends on whether the check is local or non-local. To see whether a check is local or non-local, look at the routing number on the check: If the first four digits of the routing number are 0810, 2810, 0812, 2812, 0815, 2815, 0819, 2819, 0865, or 2865, then the check is a local check. Otherwise, the check is a non-local check. Some checks are marked "payable through" and have a four-or nine-digit number nearby. For these checks, use the four-digit number (or the first four digits of the nine-digit number), not the routing number on the bottom of the check, to find out if these checks are local or non-local. We will make funds from local and non-local checks available as follows:
Longer Delays May ApplyFunds deposited by check may be delayed for a longer period under the following circumstances:
We will notify you if we delay ability to withdraw funds for any of these reasons, and we will tell you when funds will be available. They will generally be available no later than the ninth business day after the day of your deposit, or possibly longer on a case-by-case basis. Special Rules for New AccountsIf you are a new member, the following special rules will apply during the first 30 days your account is open. Funds from electronic direct deposits into your account will be available the day we receive the deposit. Funds from deposits of cash, wire transfers, and the first $5,000 of a day's total deposits of cashier's, certified, teller's, travelers, and federal, state and local government checks will be available the first business day after the day of your deposit if the deposit meets certain conditions. For example, the checks must be payable to you. The excess over $5,000 will be available the ninth business day after the day of your deposit. If your deposit of these checks (other than a U.S. Treasury check) is not made in person to one of our employees, the first $5,000 will not be available until the second business day after the day of your deposit. Funds from all other checks deposits will be available on ninth business day after the day of your deposit. (Revised 2/07) Copyright © 2008 Missouri Credit Union, All Rights Reserved. |
